RMIT creates life-changing opportunities for all, welcomes students and staff from diverse backgrounds, honours the identity and knowledge of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander nations, and is an accessible and open institution dedicated to serving the needs of the whole community.
A key milestone marking this commitment was the launch of the RMIT’s Diversity & Inclusion Framework for 2016-2020, and its six associated Actions Plans.
Each plan outlines the University’s objective to build a more open and accessible institution, dedicated to engaging with all staff and students.
The launch of the Gender Equality Action Plan for Staff in early October included an interactive and energetic audience sharing creative and practical ideas that can be implemented in the workplace.
marked the launch of the Diverse genders, sexes and sexualities Action plan launch, closely followed by an official celebration of the Diversity & Inclusion Framework at the Global Dialogue Series.
This event was hosted by Deputy Vice-Chancellor International and Vice President, Professor Andrew MacIntyre, and included a panel of passionate cultural inclusion ambassadors.
