Introducing the #ShapeRMIT Project Team

Tom Bentley

Project Director

Tom leads the #shapermit project, working with the team to the create the discussions and analysis that will support strategic decisions by RMIT’s leadership. Tom also writes for The Guardian and works with other institutions including the Gates Foundation and the Copenhagen Business School.

Anand Kulkarni

Senior Manager, Planning and Research

Anand previously held senior executive and management roles in State and Federal Government, leading policy work in the areas of innovation, industry and trade policies, climate change and labour markets. Anand is affiliated to a number of national think tanks in Australia and abroad.

Ciannon Cazaly

Research and Policy Advisor

Ciannon has experience in higher education including research, project management, research co-ordination, work integrated learning and teaching. Her PhD explored multiculturalism and player welfare in Australian Rules football.

Jess Lee-Ack

Senior Advisor, Planning

Jess has worked on strategy development within the Research and Innovation portfolio and is helping frame the discussion about research futures at RMIT.

Louise Robinson

Assistant Director, Vocational Education, Business Development

Louise’s strong change management skills and networks are assisting to engage the University and its key stakeholders in the development of the next five-year strategic plan.

David Glanz

Senior Manager, Communications

David is helping as many people as possible to join the #shapermit conversation through channels – like this site – where you can share your views.

Madeleine Babiolakis

Communications Advisor

Madeleine has a varied background that includes working in journalism, strategic communications and policy and government relations. She enjoys working against tight deadlines, and has previously advised on a range of media and communications issues within Victoria’s higher education and training sector.


The RMIT team is working with staff from Collabforge, a Melbourne-based firm that specialises in driving collaboration and innovation, both within and across organisations through strategy, facilitation and technology.
